A Chinese consulate in Houston has been ordered to close by the US State Department. The building has been set on fire while Chinese staff burned paperwork that could be collected as evidence. State Department officials say the closure is to protect American intellectual property and our citizen’s private information. A move like this indicates the consulate was found to be engaging in some very bad behavior.
Almost immediately after the news broke, fire started at the consulate and smoke was seen rising from a small open area in the center of the building. The Chinese operators at the facility were spotted burning troves of paperwork from an adjacent building. They were collecting evidence and destroying as much as possible. This sort of behavior further proves the Chinese were up to no good.
The fire got out of control and spread to the rest of the structure. The fire department had to respond a structure fire and began fighting the fire, further demonstrating the incompetency of the Chinese government. The Chinese Foreign Ministry spokesperson called the order a “political provocation” and a “serious violation of international law.”
“We have directed the closure of People’s Republic of China Consulate General Houston, in order to protect American intellectual property and American’s private information,”State Department Spokeswoman Morgan Ortagus
The State Department spokeswoman says the US will not tolerate China’s “violations of our sovereignty and intimidation of our people.” The Vienna Convention has been cited as grounds. A non interference clause reads that states “have a duty not to interfere in the internal affairs” of the host country.
The White House has been intensely critical of Chinese efforts to steal, hurt, and spy on the USA. A renegotiated trade deal and tariff schedule has put immense pressure on the communists. Decades of intellectual property theft have come to an end after President Trump took the Presidency and brought the issue to light.
For many Americans the depth of Chinese infiltration has been a shocking surprise. US tech companies have been overtly favoring the communist party and pushing that culture onto the US. Popular apps like TikTok may be banned, Reddit was caught accepting $150 million, even the Biden family is corrupted by Chinese money through Rosemont Seneca.
The practice of torching evidence when a consulate or embassy closes is old hat. In 2017 smoke was spotted coming from the Russian Consulate in San Francisco after the Trump Adminstration ordered other consulates in New York and Washington DC.
There are 4 more operational Chinese consulates in the USA, as well as the embassy in DC. There’s no doubt that each of these locations in panic mode as they try to cover their tracks. US authorities are undoubtedly well into the late stages of investigations into what the Chinese have been doing.
